General Moving FAQ
You pay at the end of your move. The driver will present you with a final bill, minus your deposit of course, and take payment then. You may pay with a credit card or cash. We offer a 5% discount for cash payments. We will accept certified checks or money orders, but these must be made payable to Broad Street Movers LLC. We will not accept personal checks.
Yes. Any item that is extremely fragile such as flatscreen TVs, artwork, or marble / glass must be boxed for shipment. We can do that for you, but you must let us know before your move if you have any items that will require special service. We may decline to move any items that are not properly boxed for shipment.
No. Our insurance does not allow customers to ride in the truck with us.
Yes. There is no additional charge for this service, just the time that it adds to the move. Any items that we disassemble we will reassemble for you at your new location. Our movers carry most basic tools. Please let us know if we will need any specialty tools.
Yes. Please just keep in mind that you cannot get on or in our truck. Also, you may not carry any items with our movers. Beyond that you are free to do as much or as little as you please.
If you are scheduled for the morning, the movers are almost always on time (+/- 15 minutes). They’ll call when they are getting close to your starting location. If you are scheduled for the 2nd move of the day, the movers will call around noon with an ETA. If they are going to arrive before noon then they will call sooner.
The 2nd move begins when the 1st job is finished. We cannot offer any set start times for the 2nd move. See above for details concerning advance notice.
Usually, yes. It’s best to let us know about any additional stops when you schedule your move. If you need to add a last minute stop we’ll do our best to accommodate. There may be a rare instance every now and then where we cannot accommodate due to time / logistical restrictions.
Yes. It’s the same to us as moving your items to our truck. Just be sure to clearly mark which items go where.
Yes. We can take away unneeded or unwanted items. There are additional charges that apply depending on the specific circumstances. Please let us know prior to your move if you will need disposal services.
No. We prefer that you be there since you know your move best, but we can work with a family member or friend instead. We just need someone to let us in, sign some paperwork in your stead, and show us what to move. It works the same at the unload. We can arrange payment before your move starts as well so your family doesn’t have to worry about the bill.
Yes. However, we only pack and move in very limited cases and only with advance notice. Unless you have made arrangements in advance, you will need to be completely packed and ready to go on your move day. If you feel that you may not be prepared please contact us before your move. We can usually schedule a last minute packing appointment or we can just bring some extra boxes on the day of your move.
No, we do not offer that service. We will place your boxes where you want them in the house. If we have one of our pads on an item of yours we will remove those as well. Unless arranged prior to your move, we will not take away packing materials.
Yes. Tipping is customary in our industry for a job well done and it’s always appreciated by the guys.
Yes. The vast majority of furniture is not designed to be moved while full of contents. Additionally, we may need to tip your furniture up on end so items may fall out. Be sure to remove all contents from any furniture items being moved. You can leave the drawers in the item since we’ll blanket wrap your furniture.
Yes, most of the time. However, it’s always best to let us know about any potential difficulties in advance so we can plan for them. We’ll always try our best though.
